Money Is Attracted To Speed

by John, The Autoresponder Guy

money is attracted to speed

Sometimes, I like to get philosophical.

In these moments of Aristotle-ness, I look at the people around me.

Why do some people rapidly rise to the top while most languish in mediocrity?

Take a look at any group of people…

Stock-brokers.

Dentists.

Entrepreneurs.

Out of every 10 stockbrokers, dentists and entrepreneurs, 2 or 3 will be making most of the money.

The astute observer will notice that I’m referring to the Pareto Principle in action.

The Pareto Principle states that roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes.

Here’s what I want to know:

What separates the few who CRUSH IT from the many who languish?

It’s not random.

There are specific things that winners do to be winners.

If you want to be a winner, do as the winners do.

What do winners do to attract a disproportionate amount of money into their lives?

Do they have secret tips?

Do they have better information?

Have they bought a specific product?

All these things play a part.

But here’s one of the most powerful factors in their success:

Speed.

Money Is Attracted To Speed

Take a look at the most successful people you know.

What are they good at?

Once you break everything down and see past the flurry of their to-do list, you’ll see that successful people all have one thing in common:

They execute… fast.

They get shit done.

They don’t fuck around.

They don’t make excuses.

They don’t spend endless hours planning.

They put pedal-to-the-metal and crank forward.

They put their ass in their chair and hustle. Day in. Day out.

Sometimes, it comes easy.

Other times, it’s hard.

But they battle through it.

They know that speed is their weapon in their quest for achievement.

Instead of trying one new strategy a month, successful people try a new strategy every week (or every day).

Instead of trying to perfect things that don’t matter (like their logo or the design of their Facebook page), they come up with 10 offers they can test.

Instead of sending one email per week (or worse… per month!), they send daily emails.

More Proof That Money Is Attracted To Speed

Mark Zuckerberg, Mr “I’m CEO Bitch” at Facebook, says:

“Move fast and break things. Unless you are breaking stuff, you are not moving fast enough.”

And Reid Hoffman, the swanky dude behind the mammoth social network LinkedIn says:

“If you are not embarrassed by the first version of your product, you’ve launched too late.”

See what I mean?

Moving fast is simple.

It’s hard work.

Brutal, even.

Not sexy.

But it works.

And if you do it long enough, it works like a magnet… attracting massive results that can’t help but be attracted to your storm of movement.

If you commit to moving faster than anyone else (with a little strategy thrown in, of course), you’re almost guaranteed to get disproportionate results.

As you consider your goals for 2014 (and you better be considering them if you want to hit the ground running), think about this:

How could you move faster in 2014?

Do you need to hire someone?

Maybe you need to stop doing 1 or 13 tasks?

Or perhaps you need to put the blinders on and just focus on one project?

Whatever.

Point being – you need to move fast.

As Woody says in Toy Story 2:

Ride like the wind, Bullseye.

It’s your only hope.

Cheers,

John, The Autoresponder Guy

As they said in Top Gun, “I’ve got the need for speed!” Well your business has the need too.

    Great post John.

See how fast I commented on this?

Thanks for the useful post John. One mindset that’s really helped me in the past is “Win Ugly.” Perfectionism is a real killer in what we do, so it’s helpful to think that you’re going to make the next version better after customer feedback.

      You got it.

Too often, we mistake a perfect product for the key element in success, when most of the time, it’s simply about trying enough times. It ain’t sexy. Nor does it take a 200 page book to explain. But it works.
